Conference Operations Specialist

Department: Conference Operations
Location: Warrenton, VA

Job Summary 

This is an entry level, labor intensive position, that requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs, carrying tables and chairs for set up and tear down, up and down stairs.

A working position responsible for successfully executing all operations in the meeting rooms to IACC standards. Strive to continually improve guest satisfaction. Ensure that standards and procedures are being met. 

Core Work Activities 

Working in a Conference Operations Team

  • Setup and teardown of all meeting functions, as well as, indoor and outdoor banquet or social functions         
  • Storage and upkeep of all Conference Operations equipment.
  • Pickup, maintain, store, and deliver all guest packages.
  • Maintain all storage and staging areas.  

Supervising Property Rooms Operations Function(s) 

  • Responsible for inspecting all meeting rooms, storage areas, and common areas to ensure that each area is in correct condition. 
  • Ensure that all rooms are equipped with standard equipment. 
  • Ensure that work orders are submitted for repairs in a timely fashion to the Conference Operations Manager(s). 
  • Keep Conference Operations office and vehicles clean.  

Managing and Monitoring Activities that Affect the Guest Experience 

  • Provides excellent customer service by being readily available/approachable for all guests. 
  • Extends professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.
  • Responds timely to customer service department request.
  • Assist with other departments as time permits.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Director. 

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the guests services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.

OR

2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.

  • Organizational skills.
  • Good written and oral communications.
  • Must be able to lift 75+ pounds up 3 flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must have some computer knowledge.
  • Physically demanding job that requires work outside in the elements.
