Job Description


Job Summary

Ensures the success and guest satisfaction of dining, banquet and beverage events. Coordinates Lead Servers and supervises Servers, Bartenders and Conference Break Attendants in the set-up, service and break-down of food service events.

The purpose of this position is to manage, plan and direct the banquet operations including service, and set-up of service. The position will report to the Manager of Outlets and will partner closely with the Catering/Sales and Culinary departments to ensure the banquet operations can meet the demands of the clients successfuly.

This position requires evening and weekend availability.


Core Work Activities

First Responsibility

  • Oversee, lead and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of wait staff, conference break attendants and bartenders in all food service events. Ensure timely service of all food and beverage events
  • Communicate effectively with wait staff, planning office and conference directors to ensure the smooth execution of events
  • Mentor and train wait staff to improve upon various aspects of dining: Buffet Service, Tableside Service, Wine Service, etc.
  • Manage man power to maximize guest experience and minimize labor cost
  • Ensure all meal covers are recorded and posted
  • Hold stand up meeting for each shift
  • Perform uniform inspection at the beginning of each shift

Second Responsibility

  • Ensure organization and cleanliness of all food and beverage service and storage areas.
  • Ensure proper completion of Banquet Bar Event requisition sheets
  • Ensure all event billing was properly completed and posted


General Responsibilities

  • Oversees all banquet service operations and ensures that all banquet service details are executed. Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room are set as contracted
  • Responsible for the performance of the banquet service staff, including direct supervision of the banquet staff. Provides leadership to the staff in the absence of the Manager of Outlets
  • Collaborate with Catering/Sales, Food & Beverage managers and the Culinary team to ensure that quality service is provided for all meeting and banquet guests
  • Be an active liaison between the guests and other staff to ensure outstanding customer service while maintaining company procedures and complying with company policies
  • Maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, safe environment
  • Perform monthly inventories and order supplies as needed in collaboration with the Manager of Outlets

Education and Experience

  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of fine dining service
  • Knowledge of wine and wine service
  • TIPS certified
  • Ability to oversee several functions simultaneously
